Ladybird Cupcakes

Ladybird cupcakes are one of my favourites ~ they're just so unbelievable cute. Plus they're also very simple to make and you'll find a link to the instructions at the bottom of this page.

Ladybird cupcakes almost more than any other are great to make with kids because they are so simple ~ in fact kids from age around 4 upwards should be able to manage these. Younger kids will stil love to do cupcake decorating but will be more interested in how many sweets they can fit on a cupcake than how much like a ladybird it looks.

Cupcake decorating is a great activity for kids as it's both creative and culinary (well it is if you get them to make the cupcakes too), but coming up with a constant stream of cupcake decorating ideas can be a challange so I hope you find the ones suggested here useful.

Anyway back to those instructions ~ How to Make Ladybird Cupcakes.

Ever Wondered How to Make Easy Elephant Cupcakes?

There's no doubt about it, elephant cupcakes are cute, and very easy to make - you'll find a link to the instructions on how to it below.

As arts and crafts activities go cupcake decorating is up there with the best of them. It's great fun, lets kids express their creativity in a novel way, and they get to make something they can eat.  In fact cupcake decorating can be a great theme for a birthday party, and is pretty easy to put together yourself ~ as you'll see here in this article on cupcake decorating parties.

The only challenge to cupcake decorating or cupcake parties is constantly coming up with new cupcake decorating idea ~ but then that's what this blog is for.

Cardboard Cupcake Stands Are Great For Parties

So you've got your cupcakes for your party and they're gorgeous.

Next question is how are you going to display them. You can lay them out on a table, but to really display them to their best you need a cupcake stand.

Now cupcake stands are not all made equal and without doubt the best are the acryclic cupcake towers, but unless you're either making cupcakes on a full time basis, or need to regularly display a couple of hundred cupcakes at a time, splashing out on one of these beauties is a bit of an extravagance.

A much more cost effective option is a cardboard cupcake stand. These are available in a wide range of styles and colours from kids Princess Cupcake Stands to pretty pinks and blues and even plain white, which while they may look a bit ordinary at first, make great stands to decorate yourself ~ or get your kids to get creative with stickers and decorate them for you.

Always fill your disposable cupcake stand from the base upwards, and make sure you put it together in the place you want to use it ~ otherwise it's a recipe for cupcakes all over the floor.

Decorate Your Cupcakes with Sugarpaste Lilies for a Perfect Present

People love cupcakes, so why not give those hard to buy for people that you know hand decorated cupcakes for their next birthday / good luck gift / thank you gift etc.

Cupcakes make great presents, and if you make them yourself they also make very cost effective presents which is always a bonus. However, if you're not practiced in the art it can be a challenge to decorate them ~ at least with something a little more original than sprinkles. Not that there's anything wrong with sprinkles but do that a few times and your nearest and dearest will begin to suspect that either:

a) you have a sprinkle fetish, or
b) that's your entire cupcake decorating repertoire

But it doesn't have to be that way. The great thing about cupcake decorating is that there are always great cupcake decorating ideas just waiting in the wings ~ such as these sugarpaste lilies. They are very simple to make, and look extremely elegant either as a single sugarpaste lily on a cupcake or a bunch.

Follow the link for full instructions on how to make sugar paste lilies for your cupcakes.
